Innovators and Music Makers

In his early years, Ovation founder Charles Kaman was an aerodynamicist working on helicopter design. It’s no doubt that this has led to the unique design and dynamic expression of his guitars. In 1964, Kaman enlisted the efforts of a small team of aerospace engineers to design a brand new guitar unlike anything else in the industry. The infamous Ovation guitar shape was no accident – designed for stability as well as volume, the parabolic shape of the back and sides, is unmistakenly recognizable and has been wildly accepted by the music industry at large.

Ovation guitars have a lengthy list of signature artists such as Glen Campbell, Neil Diamond, David Gilmour, Melissa Etheridge, Eddie Van Halen, Mick Jagger, John Lennon, Kenny Rogers, Paul Simon, Melissa Etheridge to name only a few.
