2021 marks the 20th year since the first John Scofield signature guitar was released by the Ibanez guitar brand. In honour of this milestone, Ibanez has released a limited version of this iconic hollow-bodied instrument. This new guitar is made in Japan and features an African Mahogany set neck, top tier Gotoh hardware and a set of custom-designed JSM Special humbucking pickups. The JSM20TH is very limited with currently close to only 30 available in North America. John Scofield: Dr. Jazz

Born in 1951 with a guitar in his hand and a melody in his heart, John Scofield (aka Sco) and his family relocated from Ohio to Connecticut where he found his true love of music. Although John graduated from Berklee school of music years prior, in 1997 he was awarded an honorary doctorate of music for his incredible achievements. After college, John joined stages and studios with the likes of Miles Davis, Dave Liebman, Joe Henderson, Charles Mingus, Joey DeFrancesco, Herbie Hancock, Eddie Palmieri, Pat Metheny, Bill Frisell, Joe Lovano, Pat Martino, Mavis Staples, Phil Lesh, Billy Cobham, Medeski Martin & Wood, George Duke, Jaco Pastorius, John Mayer, Robert Glasper, and Gov’t Mule, just to name a few. John has had an illustrious career in music with absolutely no signs of slowing down.
