Share, learn and explore music with great folks. All skill levels and acoustic instruments are welcome. The talented Ryan Ainsworth will be leading the group. We put the song charts up on the TV screens, you follow along and have fun.
Hungry Brew Hops is a great space in downtown Newmarket – Craft beer, wine and soft drinks, as well as delicious food.

Guided Improvisation in Partnership with Aurora Winter Blues Festival
Curious about improvising, but don’t know where to start? We have the perfect workshop for you!
Throughout this hands-on workshop Fraser Gottlieb, an experienced music instructor, and talented player, will guide you through systematic ways of approaching improvisation, as well as the musical language needed to do so successfully. A varied range of techniques will be explored, from decision making, to phrasing, and learning how best to apply particular scales – dependent on your level and interests. You will also experience working as an accompanist to your fellow participants.
All string players welcome! (guitar, bass, ukulele, violin, viola, cello, mandolin, etc.) Please let us know if you’re not comfortable with reading notation or tab, and we will connect you with Fraser prior to the event.

Got a guitar and don’t know what the heck to do with it? This Beginner Guitar workshop is a fantastic introduction led by our own John Mossop. You’ll learn about the parts of the guitar, be shown how to play some notes and chords and rhythm, all in a supportive and encouraging setting. This is a hands-on class so bring your guitar.
