We are looking for an engaging and talented guitar teacher who is as enthusiastic about music as we are. We have a very diverse group of students – ranging from young to mature, beginner to advanced, with a variety of musical genre preferences. We treat each student as an individual and recognize and embrace that each person’s musical motivations and goals are different.
Requirements:
-High level of communication skills
-Able to cover diverse musical genres
-Strong time management skills
-Studied music at a post-secondary level or RCM equivalent preferred
– Previous teaching experience preferred
– Available to work evenings (1pm/3pm – 8pm) and Saturdays (10am – 3pm/6pm)
-Strong love of music and teaching
Responsibilities:
-Teaching private 30-60 minute lessons
-Create personalized lesson plans for each student that are reflective of the student’s goals and learning styles, and incorporate reading, theory, ear training, and technique
-Create a supportive environment in which students are encouraged to grow
-Provide feedback to parents (where applicable)
