The Big Bop

Formed in 1954 from his father’s garage in downtown Los Angeles, Mexican American Mariano Bobadilla started what would become one of the most highly-regarded conga manufacturers in the percussion industry – Gon Bops. After enjoying incredible success through the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s the Gon Bops brand was eventually acquired in 2010 by renowned cymbal manufacturer SABIAN where its vintage legacy and quality craftsmanship has continued to flourish.
