When guitarists are in the hunt for top-quality effects pedals they often turn to the MXR brand of Rochester, New York. This well-known company has been in the business of manufacturing exceptional guitar pedals ever since audio-repair specialists Terry Sherwood and Keith Barr founded the venture back in 1972 and named it MXR Innovations Inc two years later.

MXR has produced some very popular pedals over the years such as the Reference, Commande, and 2000 Series which featured the Phase 90, Phase 45, Phase 100, Distortion +, Blue Box, the Junior, and Dyna Comp. The MXR brand was sold to Jim Dunlop of Dunlop Manufacturing in 1987 and has continued to come up with top-of-the-line pedals including the Fullbore Metal, Black Label Chorus, M78 Custom Badass, M75 Super Badass, EVH-117, Sub Machine Octave Fuzz, and Carbon Copy. In addition, MXR also manufacturers effect boxes for bass guitars for all you four-stringed players.
