Why Love Epiphone Guitars

One of the most sought-after guitar brands here at The Arts Music Store is definitely Epiphone. With a rich history of being owned and operated by Gibson USA, we’re thrilled to offer our customers their popular lines of electric, acoustic and bass guitars along with their durable amplifiers and accessories.  Epiphone is one of the most respected makers of musical instruments in the world as the American-based company has been in business since way back in 1873. The company manufactures products for all popular music genres and its long-lasting legacy will soon reach a century and a half.

  • High-quality Epiphone guitars with excellent clarity and resonance can be found in most of the same shapes, designs and colours as the Gibson brand. With models to fit all budgets.
  • Premium woods such as maple, mahogany, poplar, basswood, alder, granadillo and rosewood contribute to the overall tone and aesthetic of the guitars.
  • Numerous high-end Epiphone guitars feature Gibson USA pickups while other models employ popular Epiphone ProBuckers or EMG pickups.
  • Epiphone guitars are finished with extremely durable polyurethane and scarf joints for the headstocks to protect them from damage and breakage.

Epiphone Guitars

Epiphone guitars have thrived in all musical eras over the past 145 years including the mandolin/banjo age, jazz, blues, pop, R&B, folk, bluegrass, country, punk, classic rock, grunge, heavy metal and thrash and they continue to make their impressive mark on each new generation of musicians. The company started out as a small repair shop owned by the Stathopoulo family in Manhattan and has evolved into a global leader in the music world. Epiphone was purchase by the Chicago Musical Instrument Company in 1957 which is also the same company that owns Gibson Guitars. They have several manufacturing plants across the world as well as a main headquartered located in Nashville, Tennessee. The company remains an industry leader when it comes to innovation, quality, playability and affordability that is considered to be a more affordable doorway to the classic Gibson design.

The long and diverse list of past and present artists who play Epiphone guitars is very impressive indeed as it includes John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Keith Richards, Slash, Maria Conchita Alonso, Randy Bachman, Joe Bonamassa, Paul Brandt, Gary Clark Jr., Britney Christian, Ace Frehley, John Lee Hooker, Tony Iommi, BB King, Miranda Lambert, Noel Gallagher, Alex Lifeson, Bob Marley, Roger McGuinn, Joan Osborne, Mark Ronson, Tommy Shaw, Nikki Sixx, Matthew Sweet, Paul Weller, Gary Rossington, Nancy Wilson, Rick Neilson, Paul Simon, Lenny Kravitz, Johnny Winter, John Sebastian, Zakk Wylde, Bonnie Raitt, Dwight Yoakam, and Joe Perry.

“Thank you The Arts Music Store for making my 50th b-day present experience a great one. Thank you for giving a care and for your amicable character and professionalism expressed to me and my wife. Can’t say enough about all o’ this. These guys are the best. Their product line-up is downright sexy and I think the fact that my wife also picked up a pink ukulele at the same time just made it even more fun than we could have hoped for. Thanks ‘The Arts Music Store’ — you rock!”

“Nothing short of great! Extremely knowledgeable staff that go out of their way to accommodate their clientele. Customers derive benefit of the staffs in depth knowledge based on their experience as working musicians. Their experience, integrity, and in-depth knowledge of the industry means that you will get decent products to suit your own personal music needs, at fair prices and excellent service after they have made the sale. If these guys don’t truly love what they do, then they are brilliant actors! Have dealt with them for over 25 years and will continue to do so!
All the best to Archy and the gang!”

“My son and I have taken up guitar this year and we have visited a few of the popular music shops in the GTA in search of the right gear to get started with. The Arts staff have consistently provided us with exceptional service and a ton of great advice without the pushy sales approach of some of the other shops.
Great service and fantastic products!”
